I have the honor to acknowledge letter of the 18th instant, authorizing me to accept the several Tenders for Building materials & Utensils for The Mint of Hong Kong referred to in my last letter of the 29 ult.
In reference thereto I beg to append for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle, the following particulars, which shall also accompany future communications respecting the acceptance of Tender and I will endeavor to comply as far as possible with the wish of His Grace in defining the items referred to in the approximate Estimate.
The Contract for "Colman's Girders" is for such portions of the "Iron Castings total of £1621. 16.9 and "Girders" total £1478.16.1 in the Abstract of Building Materials
